What is Za’atar?
For me I could call this spice mixture as the king of spices. It is a spice mixture from Middle East. It is filled with sumac, sesame seeds, oregano, thyme and other herbs. Za’atar is perfect for sprinkling on vegetables and salads.
Potatoes
Potatoes are a staple in my kitchen. I grew up eating potatoes almost every day and I still love them! And I’am always cooking with potatoes because I just can’t get enough of them. I could never cut potatoes out of my diet. That just would be horrible!
My favorite way to prepare potatoes would have to be roasting them in the oven. These roasted potatoes are so easy to make. Usually I just roast the potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. So simple, but delicious! This time I wanted a little twist and added za’atar to potatoes. How insanely delicious!!! I’m always going to cook in this way!
How to prepare and cook Za’atar Potatoes & Tahini sauce?
It is a very simple recipe. Simply just peel and cut your potatoes. Mix it with olive oil and lots of za’atar and salt and bake in the oven. It will be ready in about 40-45 minutes. Keep on eye for them not to burn.
Tahini Sauce
Tahini is also Middle east thing. It’s just lots of sesame seeds blended and made into a paste. I love it for a good base of the sauce. I usually just mix it with some lemon juice, galric, salt and there I have beautiful sauce. It goes so well with these Za’atar Potatoes & Tahini sauce.
